Final whistle Bayern 1 Arsenal 1
The second half soon started with more life in the game than in the
first half. The goal came courtesy of schweinsteiger and from Frank
Ribery's assist. That seemed to bring Arsenal back into the game as
Lukas podolski scored immediately. After that, the game went back to
the way our was in the first half. Moments of brilliance later on,
couple of runs from Gnabry but 1-1 it stayed. Even the penalty awarded
to bayern for foul by koscielny on robben was saved by fabianski.
Its over in the champions league though but its not over yet in the
premiership or in the FA cup where we still have a shot.

Half time Arsenal 0 Bayern 0
Now its half time and its still 0_0 to both sides. Alex
oxlade-chamberlain has been performing brilliantly. Lets hope his
brilliant performance will lead us to victory. Second half to follow.

Bayern munich vs Arsenal. Belief is key
Today in Germany one of the biggest encounter of the Uefa champions
league round of 16 return leg will take place and Bayern munich hosts
Arsenal at the allianz arena in an encounter that promises to be full
of attacking football.
It is very important that from the kick off, Arsenal should ensure
they get the ball forward as much as possible. Last season, coming
from a 3-1 defeat at home to bayern munich, the north london outfit
pulled two goals back in the early minutes and were only eliminated on
away goals. This season however, to ensure progress into the quarter
finals, Arsenal must at least score two goals without the opponent
getting any to force the game into extra time. This is a very
difficult task, however it is not impossible. The attack and defence
must be balanced and the team must take the chances as they come.
I would love to go with this line up: Nacho monreal, Bacary Sagna,
Laurent koscielny, Per Mertesacker, Flamini, Arteta, Ozil, Santi
cazorla, rosicky/chamberlain, Giroud.
I will however prefer rosicky in the line up because we need to get
the ball forward and always try to disposses bayern as much as
possible. Rosicky is a player who is not shy to run with the ball and
make passes when needed, he also knows how to make tackles to win the
ball back. Definitely we need someone like that on the pitch today.
The team in general must believe and focus to get the needed result
today.

No matter what happens at allianz arena, it ain't over yet.
Yeah you might be wondering the reason for this headline despite the
fact that i believe something positive can come out of tomorrow's
match against bayern munich. I strongly believe Arsenal can come out
victorious in tomorrow's encounter but one must not always forget to
think the other way and it is in thinking the other way that i decide
to write this.
Detractors of Arsenal will say it is their usual way. Most people
will say Arsenal were not meant to progress. But the thing here is
Arsenal though still a lot of distance away from being regarded as
fantastic has performed beyond expectations this season. Though we may
have done some damage to ourself in not strengthening some key areas
in the team, for example the striking position but very glaring this
season is that a lot of things were not in our favour.
Is it the fixture congestion that is always plaguing us compared to
other teams challenging for honours(another fixture congestion starts
from tomorrow again) or is it the fact that we always get afflicted
with injuries to our key players or the fact that god of draws didn't
always favour us by always given us tough oppositions compared to
others. Many thought we would crumble in the face of oppositions like
tottenham or liverpool or everton in the FA cup but yet we are still
in the running for the trophy. We shouldn't forget the fact that we
were trapped in the "group of death" in the champions league also and
as if that was not enough, we were drawn against bayern munich
again(for the second time in two seasons).
And despite all these mentioned above, we are still in the pole
position for the FA cup, still in the running for the premiership
(though some might disagree) and we can also take heart from the fact
that we have defeated bayern munich before and we can do it again. We
only need to rally round more than ever and support the team we love
and even if we get eliminated tomorrow, we shouldn't forget that we
still have a lot to fight for especially FA cup in particular. But as
for me here we have done well this season, better than the last and i
will cheer this team on till we win.

Arsenal's time has come as Wigan defeats Man city again
Oh yeah oh yeah yeah yeah. Wigan defeats man city again to book a date
with Arsenal in the FA cup semi final. Many people thought wigan
couldn't repeat the same thing they did last year as they pipped man
city to the trophy and yet again today they have shown they have the
cheat code to defeat manchester city in cup matches. And so Arsenal
will have the chance to prove to all that we have arrived.
2011 carling cup final against birmingham was one to forget as we
couldn't claim the trophy despite the odds being in our favour. But
now we can redeem our image as we go back to wembley stadium with hope
and fire in our hearts. Arsenal has performed beyond everyone's
expectation this season and it is high time we proved we are no more
just among the pretenders but now we are contenders and winners.

Ozil was good against everton but we need more from him especially against bayern....keep the faith
Ozil in yesterday's FA cup encounter composed well to slot santi
cazorla's pass comfortably into the net before setting up Giroud for
the 4th goal. The performance against the team with the stature of
everton shows that ozil can be fantastic in big matches also. Many
critics have been saying he only performs against small teams, well he
certainly shut them up yesterday.
Now to the next game on the minds of all football lovers; Bayern
Munich vs Arsenal at the allianz arena, three first leg of which
ozil's performance was dismal. He could not track ball nor was he able
to make any meaningful contribution till the end of the game. The
final whistle was music to all the fan's ears as many were afraid of
bayern munich increasing the goal margin. That match has gone and the
second leg is in two days time.
The second leg presents a very good chance for mesut ozil to prove he
is a reliable player and what better place to do it than in his own
country and I front of some of the same people who booed him in the
national colours last week. This is ozil's chance to show he has the
class. Ozil is a master player, the kind of player that can throw a
killer pass from any where, the kind of player that can make assists
from any angle, the kind of player that can change the outcome of a
game for any team so in one word, he is a great player. But on tuesday
represents a good time for him to show his greatness and put a lock on
the mouth of his critics.
Many people including arsenal fans think the game is lost already,
they think there is no way Arsenal can go to Germany and defeat bayern
at home, but i say they are wrong. We did it once and we can do it
again. The only problem remains if we can get the result needed to
progress to the next round. Therefore the task test upon our game
changers to turn up on that day and i believe we can do it. We need
the team at its best and adding ozil to the line up will add diversity
and vision to the team.
Anyways, we'll know on tuesday whether we'll progress or not but i
believe we can. We just need to keep the faith.

Wembley loading Arsenal 4 Everton 1
The second half soon started with 1-1 for either side until Gareth
Barry brought down home boy Alex in the box and the penalty was
converted by Arteta bringing the game back into Arsenal's control.
Olivier Giroud came on for Yaya sanogo and the french man made his
presence felt as he instinctively slot home bacary sagna's low pass
into the net. Brilliant play from the left again soon saw Santi
cazorla play a long ball to Tomas Rosicky and the czech midfielder who
came on for alex chamberlain laid the ball down for ozil at the edge
of the box, the German showed class as he expertly passed the ball to
Giroud again, the french man getting in the score sheet again to send
the home crowd into jubilation at the end of the game.

FA Cup is our most realistic silverware this season
As Arsenal face Everton today in the FA cup clash, there is the
general feeling among Arsenal fans that there is little hope of
winning the premier league while there is almost no hope of getting
past bayern munich in the champions league. Therefore the only
competition where Arsenal has the most realistic chance is the FA cup
and today they face Everton after a they were last defeated by stoke
city last week making it a run of five games with only two wins.
After defeating liverpool earlier in the competition, the feeling
is generally strong that Arsenal can go all the way to win the trophy,
but this clash against everton represents another important test of
the club's title credentials. Arsene Wenger while speaking to
reporters said winning a trophy this season is vital. He has
constantly talked about his desire to win trophy with the club again
and i personally think that is the more reason why he shouldn't take
this encounter today lightly. Our most potent and deadliest players
should be on the field today to ensure we dominate and win.

Arda Turan would love to join Arsenal
Turkey international's Athletico madrid midfielder Arda turan wants to
move to England. Although he has been previously linked with both
manchester united and liverpool football clubs in the past it is been
said that he would love to play under Arsene Wenger. Athletico madrid
currently are in the running for the spanish la liga this season and
it is not clear whether he will leave a team in which he is an
important member, but he would be a welcome addition to Wenger's boys
if he eventually decides to join.

News from the break and its Implications for Arsenal's season
Arsenal went on the break on the back of a disappointing 1-0 loss to stoke city last weekend. It was not good for the title race as fellow title contenders chelsea and liverpool both won convincingly. This left Arsenal in third position behind liverpool on goal difference. Manchester city on the other hand could not play their premier league match because of their encounter with sunderland which they also won convincingly through goals from Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri and Jesus Navas. They currently sit in fourth position with two games in hand. This only means Arsenal is now in a tight spot.
During Germany's match during the week, Arsenal's mesut ozil was booed off the pitch while jack wilshere sustained an ankle injury from daniel agger's challenge. I was relieved when i saw jack wilshere get back into the game yesterday not knowing he would still be out for up to six weeks. Just this morning, This is really bad for Arsenal's season. The injury is not only bad for the team, but also for jack wilshere as a player. He'll need to be fit in time for the world cup and prove himself with the little time before the tournament.
Joel Campbell, Arsenal's loanee to olympiakos also scored during the week for costa rica to send message to Arsene Wenger that he is as good as the current crop of strikers we are parading for the title this season. Tomas rosiscky also got on the score sheet for Czech.
Good news from the injury front as Aaron Ramsey is back in training. He should be back for Arsenal's match against Tottenham. I only hope he can reproduce the form he had before his injury. As a player is going away, another is coming back. Why do we always face injury crisis when we need our players the most?
Clash with everton comes up this weekend and i think its gonna be a match that defines our season. A win will mean we still have a title within our reach. Arsenal having won just only twice in the last five matches will be looking to return to winning ways against Everton and they have a comparatively better form than Arsenal's as they won three of their last five matches.
Let's hope we win tomorrow and that the win will provide the needed charge required for the tough run of matches coming ahead.
